Art Program
General Art:  The art program strives to provide a stimulating experience and develop in the art student creative thinking, cognitive skills, and communication abilities and to recognize and express the order and beauty of God’s creation in works of art.  Students express ideas through original artwork using a variety of media with appropriate skill. Students will learn elements of art (line, color, texture, value, shape, form, and principles of design).

Studio Art:  Studio Art is a high school elective class. This class focuses on drawing techniques building in the art student a sound drawing foundation. High school students may take more than one year of Studio Art.  In these cases students will be working with other art media (i.e. paint, pastel, clay).

Music Program

Orchestra: Our orchestra program begins in the second grade and offers students the opportunity to play in a large ensemble while learning a new instrument. Students may play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Our orchestra students learn important playing skills, music theory, and learn to work as a group. The orchestra performs in two performances each year in addition to their many community engagements.

Band: Our instrument education program is for students in second through twelfth grade. Keyboard begins in second grade and band begins in fourth grade. Students progress from the beginning level through intermediate and advanced skill levels. In addition to weekly instructional classes, students also perform for school concerts throughout the year and other community events.

Music Appreciation: Our middle school students have the opportunity to take Music Appreciation. During this class, students explore general music theory, composers of different musical eras, and different musical styles. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the middle school choir and prepare a concert for the Christmas season.

Our music program includes strings, orchestra, band and choir.
