Clubs & Activities

Holy Cross offers many opportunities for our students to thrive outside of the classroom through involvement in service organizations, performing arts, and clubs.

Service Opportunities
We believe that service is an integral part of the character development of our students. All of our students engage in service opportunities throughout the Lynchburg area.

Student Government
Students are provided with opportunities to enhance leadership skills through Student Action Council (S.A.C.). S.A.C. members collaborate in planning student activities and serve as communication links between students and the school administration. Student leaders at Holy Cross strive to support the school’s mission and to positively impact the overall school community.

Orchestra Program
Our orchestra program begins in the second grade and offers students the opportunity to play in a large ensemble while learning a new instrument. Students may play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Our orchestra students learn important playing skills, music theory, and learn to work as a group. The orchestra performs in two big concerts each year in addition to their many community engagements.

Band Program
Our instrument education program is for students in second through twelfth grade. Keyboard begins in second grade and band begins in fourth grade. Students progress from the beginning level through intermediate and advanced skill levels. In addition to weekly instructional classes, students also perform for school concerts and at local and district American Independent Music Association festivals. Advanced musicians may audition for the All-State Honors Band Performance Tour in the spring.

The Gaelogos, the Holy Cross FIRST Lego League team, meets after school on designated days in the fall while our Jr. FIRST Lego team meets in the spring.

Our Key Club has reached out to the community with service and food items for Daily Bread, Red Cross blood drives, Tornado disaster relief, Humane Society drives, and much more.
